commune With Nature-Taman Negara
Jungle...was it a jungle? pretty so...big tualang tress...humoungous i must say and the greenery and the smell of nature...Well, actually there wasn't that smell of freshness and sweet air:P so here's the schedule and what we did and bla bla bla... kinda boring, don't you think too? but the trip was enjoyable even it'll sound pretty pretty lame on writing..
Let's see, we, the students of PPKtJ departed with 4 teachers, 3 of them japanese at around 10 to Taman Negara.Journey was looooooonnnggggg and dull but gave me time to play my new Game Boy game, Fire Emblem:The sacred Stones:P Fun Fun gameeeee!! but that should be in another entry..After 4 hours or so, we reached there! and to my disbelief, Taman Negara was..was.. was a village!! i always thought we would be staying in the jungle but the motel was outside on the outskirts and to go to the jungle, we'd hafta cross a river by boat. the motel.. was 2-3 times better than i expected except there was a diaper left in the toilet which made the whole room stink for the whole duration of my stay!Food sucked badly.. and every meal was a variation of curry:P..
so, on to the palce.. this first day ahh... kinda sucked.. there was d swimming in the river, which was kinda fun.. got a taste of how strong river currents can be...and the danger too.. the night activities were were were horrible... there was this nightwalk thing where we could supposedly see animals from a watching place..well, i did like the trip to the watching tower though. Most of us didn't bring torch lights , so it was like pitch pitch dark! and i almost fell *shrugs* so, on to what we saw. some say the saw a deer but other than that the only thing everyone say was a pair of eyes!!then there was the optional night safari which i paid rm 20 for it!! The only thing that was good for was the breeze riding behind a truck! We had the thinking that we were going into a jungle to see animals but they brought us to a palm oil plantation! and all i saw(because i was half asleep) was a bull and an owl but the rest didnt see much other:P
so kinda suck for the first day eh? so how bout the 2nd day?? it was great, real great..( ain't sarcasm here by the way) in the morning was a jungle trekkng session. While there was a path for us, it was still kinda hard with the slopes and fallen tress( we were trkking up a hill.. 343 mup)and the view from the peak, while not WOW, was at least pleasing to the eye :D next on the list was the canopy walk.. fun fun!! i would want to go again...given the chance. It was made of ladders and planks( easier than the wires one i went at the kursus thingy). However, it was pretty high up and the distance was 500 m!! that gotta be something eh? i really enjoyed looking at the forest from up there. the bridge was shaking too, which was a good thing. I heard Matsuse Sensei was pretty freaked out though:P
Now,I'm really getting pretty lazy to type, so i'll cut it real short.. Other than that, there was a visit to Orang Aslis which was pretty cool. Hand made fire and blowpipes, really authentic even though kind of modernised already.Yet, they seemed the most genuine people i've seen so far. Then there was the 'rapids shooting' which was actually just a motorised boat speeding up stream. It was fun but the disappointment was there. Well, that's about it as night time we had a bbq and we left the next morning after breakfast! A trip concluded, THE END
