Update of my life

enough of tulips for now. i decided to talk abit about whats been going on in my life. not that i have a life though. there's assignments and experiment reports(which honestly,i find very interesting but the reports! =( ) . then there's internship on my mind for summer. i decided to apply for canon.i should have known better that it wasn't going to be the camera and lens division. instead it's to do with their industrial side, which includes semiconductor machines and medical equipments. chances of getting it are pretty slim though... only about 20 people for whole japan! i'm supposed to write an essay about why i want this internship but i really don't know myself. then i'm supposed to write what my strong points are and how i'm going to help the community with it. so peeps, shoot away! comments comments...

and oh, i've started working part time at this italian restaurant(have i posted this before?.. i can't remember...)so this golden week will be work and assignments to complete!

Tulips Part 3

yes, there's a part 3!i don't usually post so many pictures of a series. i only took abt 150 shots but i'm posting to near 20. quite a rarity for me. i usually post 5 out in 100? :P it's not to say that i think all the shots here are good,like the landscape ones, it lacks dof. partly my mistake for not checking the aperture(thats what u get when u get to involved and go trigger happy)

that said, this picture has to be in my top 3 of my series, the way its centred while the rest are surrounding it is just nice.

high blood

my blood pressure is high! ok, i wasn't actually that surprised when i saw the numbers on the digits. if u led my lifestyle during hols, it's definitely possible, drinking quite a bit , 2nd hand smoke, laksa almost every other day, meat,meat,seafoof,seafood, how not to?so i need cut down for now, thinking of going vege for a month? think i can do it? i needa cut down on eggs too, i realize i down 2-4 eggs a day ... :|

i went to see tulips today! about an hour bus from ogaki station.. 700 yen one way! luckily the place is a public park so free entrance. left at 6.54 from my place and came back at 12.30. wanted to stay longer but got baito so couldn't. baito's fun though. tired now, more pics to come when i edit it :P cyaz

i just got my tripod head! after waiting a bloody 2 weeks for it (very slow for an online transaction) lovely and i must say, it's pretty much worth the money i paid for it( tightening the belt for the next few weeks :P ) so i guess i'd take it out on a test run and found some flowers near my hostel, enjoy. i think the pictures are better enlarged, it shows the exquisite fine details . hopefully tulips next.

i haven't been taking pictures lately, can hardly find the time o the subject so i don't know what to post about. i guess i'll talk about my spanking new phone. it's a samsung, looks like a razr knock off though. personally i don't really mind. the phone is pretty decent and less than 1/5 the thickness of my previous phone. i'm not gonna say softbank rocks o anything but i just changed cause everyone did...paid a hefty price for cancelling the current contract, haiz. my phone's black btw.a picture taken with the phone. i still don't like camphones,this picture is slightly over exposed for my liking but it still does alright. but, reason no.1 to never use camphones, shutter lag. it's so horrendous! and of course night scenes.

Only In Japan

This country never stops to surprise me. odo(the mongol dude) and i were shopping for shirin's( iran girl) bday cake last week. there weren't many to choose from and in the end we decided to get a baskin robin's ice cream cake(it melted in the end but thats another story :P ) odo then said', why don't we get her flowers too, it's only about 300 yen or so'. so we went to the florist at the mall. to our surprise, no one was there! it had a sign saying

the cashier is out at the moment. please wait until he/she returns before purchasing your item

no one was taking after the store and we could have just taken anything we wanted without anyone knowing. a lady then walked in, whom we presumed to be the cashier. we decided to pay but she said she wasnt!(she was at the counter btw). she then hurried off to look for the cashier but came back alone. we waited again.. she checked the cash register but it was locked.
in the end, i think she gave up and only charged us 200yen.

in malaysia or almost any other country, an unattended shop would mean robberies, whether the cash register is locked o not.

talk about safety in japan...

Manners

it's been a busy week! back to japan, new junior here, blablabla , i'm sure i've mentioned that already. anyways, i thought i'd bring my junior(kien) to osaka for a little shopping(small for me, big for him). it was during this trip that i had my worst train ride experience in the year that i've been here. train was late by 10+ mins and that was a little shocking but the train that came was full! see, it takes 3hours o so to go osaka and we were supposed to have hanami at 1030. since d train came late, i couldnt do anything bout it but i thought i'd get on the full train to not be that late. kien n i squeezed like tuna or sardines in tin cans. my hands literally couldnt move. then you're at the side of the train and when the train turns, u think the whole train is going to tilt over!

now about manners. we reached a station where we had to change trains. there was a small queue but it was quite in order. to my shock and disbelief however, when the train came, the so-i-thought japanese rushed in like mad people to get a seat!i saw this lady pull down the seat and jumped on it in fear someone else would take it. to be fair, she wanted her elderly father to have a seat. but my whole image about a well mannered japanese society was shattered within minutes.

so i got there about 1045-1100 and to my surprise only one group was here before me!to my anger the 1hour away group CHOSE to come late because they knew it wasn't going to start early. their rationale? since it's a malaysian event, we're following malaysian time, i.e if the invitation is for 1030 , it won't start untill 1230. it actually only started at 1!! blah,i can't say i've never been late before but i always try to make it on time.

oh yea,on my way back, it snowed! but i was stoned in the train and groggy to even feel anything about it. the train went slower though to be safe. i just slept through the whole time.

i realised i haven't been writing alot in my posts lately, partly due to a hectic schedule and fatigue. got back yesterday and i spent the better part of the day rearanging my room. it looks much more spacey now. then there's the helping out with the kohai part, getting the futon, buying some essentials and etc.... luckily, tonight went without any 'incident' 'fire' 'broken heater' 'burnt room' *phew*

heading to osaka this weekend , meeting the rest of the guys there. got a big shopping list as well. tripod head, lens case, nd grad filter, etc... hopefully 3-4man enough.. cannot be spending alot.

yearly schedule is planned with quite a few trips, aussie,uk,tms, all need $$$$$ maybe baito ? but then i'd hafta cut down on my photography =( we'll see how things go...

Travillion- know your limit

i'm back in kuching after my kl/pg trip. ju's back too and with sam, we went to bar zing at travilion . damn malay place..and very few chicks. on our 2nd night there, it was pretty quiet and i thought it was going to be a boring boring night.suddenly, at the bar opposite us( le rendevous) shouting could be heard. naturally everyone went to take a peek. apparently, the bouncers a.k.a gangsters weren't pretty happy about something there. one guy got pretty pissed and started to take out something from behind his back. ok, i know kch pai kia's don;t have guns but i would at least expect a parang o sth along tht line but wad came out was a clean stainless steel kitchen butcher knife!(prolly from his mom's kitchen) i know it's not funny but when u;re slightly tipsy, it seemed so ridiculous and he started swinging it around n around. few glasses broke here n there but luckily no one was slashed i think. i still think it's funny though that kch gangsters can't afford better.they were prolly drunk anyway.

on another not so funny note, there was this big boss in bar zing who claims he and his friends can drink 7 to 12 bottles one night.wow, i thought but in the end i wondered what the point if u're drunk till u get pissed at everything. see there was this chick and well someone was talking to her but he claims she's his gf(which is not true). then he starts glaring and shouting at everyone that gets near him. wtf man. if u wanna drink, be happy la, why do shit like this. know your limit man. i guess alcohol brings out jealousy and voilence in most guys...sigh..i'm gonna stop drinking for a while ..
